MAGPIES ADVANCE TO GRAND FINAL!!!

Port Adelaide has advanced to the 2011/12 SABL Grand Final with a 2-1 series win over Golden Grove Central Districts on the weekend.

The Magpies dominated against the GGCD import righty on Saturday to take a 1-0 series lead with a mercy rule 15-0 victory. Brian Fowler was dominant on the hill for the black and white.

Game 2 saw GGCD hit back with an 11-5 victory as the Magpies were unable to hold onto a 5-3 lead into the 7th inning.

In a tight game three the Magpies posted a 6-4 victory with Todd Langman throwing 8 innings. The victory sees Port advance to their 4th Grand Final in 7 years. Port will tackle Kensington at Kensington in a matchup between the teams who have won the last 4 SABL premierships.

Congratulations to the Port Adelaide Under 16/2 and Under 12/1 teams on taking out their grand finals on the weekend.

Also a great effort from the Under 14/1's who lost in the Grand Final to GGCD.
